DL BEACH CLUB ORGANIZES LIFE BETWEEN THE TROPICAL FOREST AND THE PACIFIC THROUGH LAYERS OF SHADE, STONE, WATER AND OPEN-AIR TERRACES. A FLOATING ROOF SHELTERS THE SOCIAL SPACES WHILE OPENINGS PRESERVE EXISTING TREES AND FRAME THE SKY.
CONCEPT
Conceived for the beachfront landscape of Santa Teresa, DL Beach Club translates the idea of stratigraphy into a sequence of spaces between forest and ocean. Privacy walls contain the sides of the site while the social areas open toward the beach.
Openings in the suspended concrete roof accommodate existing trees and bring natural light into the pavilion. Sheltered social areas extend onto bamboo decks and pools. Natural stone, timber surfaces and Sukabumi stone in the water areas connect the architecture to its tropical setting.
PROGRAM
The 690 m² residential beach club combines a sheltered living and dining pavilion with a kitchen, bar and BBQ. Restrooms, showers, storage and a service kitchen support the social areas.
A sequence of decks connects the pavilion to the infinity pool, pool beds, children’s pool, jacuzzi, cold plunge and reflecting pools. Parking, an entrance hall and a beach walkway organize access from the public road to the ocean.
