TIBO IS A DISCREET INTERVENTION WITHIN THE TROPICAL LANDSCAPE OF DRAKE BAY. RATHER THAN IMPOSING A PREDETERMINED FORM, THE ARCHITECTURE FOLLOWS THE NATURAL SLOPE, PRESERVES EXISTING TREES, AND MINIMIZES EARTHWORK.
CONCEPT
Tibo is conceived as a discreet architectural system shaped by the geomorphology of Drake Bay. Rather than imposing a predetermined composition, its volumes follow the natural slope, preserve existing trees, and minimize earthwork. Soft curves and undulating roofs respond to the forest canopy, tropical rainfall, shade, and natural ventilation, reducing the project’s visual presence while opening carefully framed views toward the Pacific.
PROGRAM
The hospitality program is distributed across independent bungalows, a restaurant, spa, and wellness spaces positioned according to the site’s natural slope and existing trees. A network of trails connects the individual volumes, allowing guests to move through the landscape while preserving the forest’s continuity and maintaining privacy between accommodations.
